The opportunity
Hybrid role based in Swindon - 2 days a week required in the office.
As an integral part of the multi-function Data Engineering Team, you will design and use Testing techniques for the development of Openwork data structures that support Warehouse and Reporting output.

Your responsibilities as Data Test Analyst
- Architect, manage, and maintain the testing principles that will govern and assure end to end quality for all data warehouse and reporting deliverables.
- Design the test approaches and test strategies necessary to deliver continuous data warehouse and reporting iterations.
- Develop specific test cases for data management / ETL / Report layer data consumption.
- Execute test cases for data management / ETL / Report layer data consumption.
- Identify, develop, and manage the regression test scripts.
- Operate iterative test cycles.
- Participate in defect triage meetings.
- Define the environments and test data required for the different test phases for data deliverables.
- Performance test ETL packages.
- Validate data against the transformation and business rules in technical specifications, from source system to end report.
- Work with the business Data Analysts challenging and seeking clarifications on the data mappings/ rules.
- Work with the Business Analysts who will feed into the data transformation/ business rules.
- Ensure quality is embedded and proven through testing at every stage of the delivery lifecycle.
- Provide test-driven design input for all technical deliverables.
- Participate in ensuring best practise is adhered to in the handling and management of data by the team.
- Support other test team(s) within the organisation, e.g. SIT, UAT.
What will you need to succeed?
- Experience working as a Data Tester for Data warehouse environments.
- Experience in Agile working.
- Financial Services industry experience (desirable).
- Professional Testing Accreditation (desirable).
- Strong Microsoft data expertise, SQL Server, Azure SQL, ADF, Synapse.
- Strong SQL / database querying skills.
- Understanding of data methodologies e.g Kimball.
- Understanding of defect management process.
- Understanding of risk-based testing.
- Openwork sales and recruitment structures (desirable).
- Knowledge of the product hierarchy (desirable).
