Our client is an award-winning Applied AI and Big Data software and services company, driven by a deep desire to solve transformational problems at the heart of businesses. Our signature approach combines groundbreaking machine-learning research with disciplined cloud and data-engineering practices to create breakthrough impact at unprecedented speed. They are currently looking to add a Data Science Specialist with SAS background for a 2 month project to start. This role could turn into a either a long term contract or a permanent role.

Role:

Data Science Specialist

Responsibilities:

• Experience with collecting and managing data, data wrangling, preparation and manipulation
• Understanding of data science techniques including machine learning and statistical modelling
• Understanding of various data science tools / workbenches available in the market such as SAS, SAS viya, DataRobot, Data IQ, Domino Data Lab, etc.
• Work with technical leads (onshore and offshore) and clients to understand and provide subject matter expertise on data science tools and techniques
• Participate in requirement gathering sessions with stakeholders along with data / program lead and business systems analysts
• Develop sophisticated yet simple interpretations and communicate insights to clients that lead to quantifiable business impact
• Adhere to the development standards and best practices setup with regards to quality of deliverables
• Adhere to the security standards set by the client
• Ensure delivery is done in time and in adherence to quality standards/gates.

Qualifications & Skills:

• Hands-on experience with data science tools such as SAS viya, DataRobot, Data IQ, Domino Data Lab, etc.
• Experience with data science languages such as Python, R, SQL, etc.
• Experience within the FSI industry preferable
• Experience with automated migration / integration of SAS to other Data Science workbenches preferable
