Job description

Our client is an award-winning Applied AI and Big Data software and services company, driven by a deep desire to solve transformational problems at the heart of businesses. Our signature approach combines groundbreaking machine-learning research with disciplined cloud and data-engineering practices to create breakthrough impact at unprecedented speed. They are currently looking to add a Data Science Specialist with SAS background for a 2 month project to start. This role could turn into a either a long term contract or a permanent role.

Role:

Data Science Specialist

Responsibilities:

Experience with collecting and managing data, data wrangling, preparation and manipulation
Understanding of data science techniques including machine learning and statistical modelling
Understanding of various data science tools / workbenches available in the market such as SAS, SAS viya, DataRobot, Data IQ, Domino Data Lab, etc.
Work with technical leads (onshore and offshore) and clients to understand and provide subject matter expertise on data science tools and techniques
Participate in requirement gathering sessions with stakeholders along with data / program lead and business systems analysts
Develop sophisticated yet simple interpretations and communicate insights to clients that lead to quantifiable business impact
Adhere to the development standards and best practices setup with regards to quality of deliverables
Adhere to the security standards set by the client
Ensure delivery is done in time and in adherence to quality standards/gates.

Qualifications & Skills:

Hands-on experience with data science tools such as SAS viya, DataRobot, Data IQ, Domino Data Lab, etc.
Experience with data science languages such as Python, R, SQL, etc.
Experience within the FSI industry preferable
Experience with automated migration / integration of SAS to other Data Science workbenches preferable
