We are looking to employ a Data Scientist to be based in London and to work with us on a full time basis.

The Role
We are seeking an experienced data scientist to join our P&C insurance team. As a data scientist, you will be responsible for analysing large data sets to identify trends, patterns, and insights that can be used to drive better decision-making across the organisation.
You will collaborate closely with other members of the P&C insurance team to develop models that help us to better understand and manage risks, as well as improve customer experience.
Responsibilities
- Collect, organize, and analyse large data sets from various sources to derive insights that will inform business decisions.
- Collaborate with underwriting, claims, and product development teams to identify areas where data-driven insights can improve their operations.
- Build predictive models that can help identify risk factors and improve underwriting accuracy, working closely with actuarial colleagues.
- Develop machine learning algorithms that can be used to detect fraudulent claims.
- Work with the IT team to ensure that data is stored and analysed securely.
- Develop dashboards and reports that clearly communicate insights to stakeholders from across the business.
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends, hot topics and emerging technologies that could impact the P&C insurance industry.
- Help drive forward good Conduct for the business to deliver the best outcomes for customers / policyholders.
What we are looking for
We are keen to speak to candidates with at least 3 years of experience in a data science or similar role, preferably within the P&C insurance industry or a similar financial environment.
Key Skills & Experience
- Strong knowledge of data analysis techniques, including statistical analysis and machine learning.
- Experience working with large data sets and advanced data analysis tools (such as SQL, R, Python).
- Experience developing predictive models and machine learning algorithms.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to explain complex data concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Experience working with cloud computing and big data technologies (such as AWS, Hadoop, Spark) is a plus.
Qualifications
University Degree and/or relevant professional qualification in a quantitative field such as computer science, statistics, mathematics, or economics. A Master's degree is preferred.
