About the role
Lead Data Scientist – Nottingham (Hybrid Working)
Up to £75,000 + Comprehensive Package
MBN is partnering up with an energy company to help them appoint a Lead Data Scientist in the Debt and Credit function. The position involves using real-world datasets to develop innovative models for credit and debt management strategies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Developing innovative predictive models and utilizing statistical techniques.
- Assessing customer credit worthiness and behavioural trends from both internal and external data sources, including credit, collection, vulnerability, and affordability perspectives.
- Creating and implementing risk scorecards to evaluate credit risk and inform business decisions.
- Working with large structured and unstructured datasets, manipulating data, and applying analytical techniques to deliver data-driven solutions.
- Proactively planning for the future by exploring advanced modelling techniques and developing machine learning capabilities to improve credit risk modelling.
Skills:
- Proficiency in data analysis and programming languages such as SQL and Python.
- Strong statistical background and familiarity with varied statistical techniques.
- Effective communication skills, capable of conveying complex concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Experience in designing, developing, monitoring, and overseeing credit risk management models and scorecards.
- Proven accountability, capable of making decisions and taking ownership of improvements.
Nice to have:
- Experience in Databricks and Tableau is highly beneficial
