The Opportunity
The Data Scientist will understand core products, services and offerings, identify critical data problems, design and implement data-driven approaches for quantitative analysis and solutions. You will be developing innovative algorithms and models for location/geospatial and address data to solve business problems. You will be searching through large data sets for usable information and creating reports, presentations and story maps for business users.
Your role will involve:
- Ensuring that the Address Quality team aways have a sufficient body of work by effective management of data.
- Analysis of large data sets to identify key structures and patterns in sector specific address sets.
- Implementation of automated address cleansing mechanisms, with the aim f obtaining an accurate address match using matching datasets.
- Applying automated test controls to large data sets, analyzing results and driving resulting issues to resolution.
- Manage and maintain effective communications with team, peers, internal Landmark management and external customers as required.
About You
To be successful as the Data Scientist you will be an effective communicator, who has the flair to liaise with both internal and external customers and suppliers (in person, phone and email) to drive projects forward.
You will also have/be:
- Proficient with database programming languages such as SQL, R or Python.
- Spatial analysis using GIS specialist software (e.g., FME, ESRI ArcGIS, QGIS)
- Building, managing and analysing large and complex reference datasets in relational database environments (e.g., PostGIS)
- Developing innovative algorithms and models for location/geospatial & address data to solve business problems (for example, address cleansing of customer data to provide an accurate address match)
