The role is part of a strategic AI initiative that aims to accelerate the development of innovative products and features utilizing Artificial Intelligence, Operations Research and Advanced Analytics.
Working within the new innovation team, the Data Scientist will research, prototype, develop and implement data science/machine learning algorithms to solve modern day supply chain problems.
Responsibilities
· Use data science techniques to solve the problems of internal and external customers with a focus on Forecasting and/or Optimization
· Investigate and innovate with data science techniques to drive new opportunities for Körber Supply Chain products
· Research, prototype, develop and implement data science/machine learning algorithms to discover trends and patterns to help solve supply chain problems.
· Liaise with the software development team to integrate models into products.
· You collaborate with other data scientists and developers in the team.
· You interpret and visualize your work results and present your findings in a customer friendly manner.
Experience and Qualifications
· Strong background in Forecasting (ML/Time series) AND/OR Optimization
· Proven experience (minimum of 3 years) applying forecasting and/or optimization to solve business problems.
· Experience applying data science / machine learning / AI to solve business problems
· A degree in Computer Science, Natural Sciences, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related quantitative field.
· Good knowledge of Python and experience developing productive software components with it.
· Experience with machine learning and data processing tools.
· Willingness to be involved in the development and operation of software beyond pure Data Science.
· Strong organizational, problem solving, planning and time management skills.
Desired Qualifications
· Experience with TensorFlow, scikit-learn, Pandas and visualization libraries
· Proficiency in software development processes, such as code review, version control, and testing.
· Agile experience (Scrum/Kanban)
· Knowledge about SVN or Git and branching methodologies
· Experience with cloud services for Machine Learning, e. g. Azure and MLOps is beneficial.
· Full driving licence
· Bonus: Good German language skills
