As the Senior Data Scientist , you will help shape the architecture, data engineering, and insights for a new company, the WK Kellogg Company .This role will help us define and execute our data strategy and standards for WK Kellogg Company by building and maintaining data integrations from and to source systems and building data processing solutions that enable self-service reporting and advanced analytics. Location preference is Chicago, IL Metropolitan Area or Battle Creek, MI.

HERE’S A TASTE OF WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING
Evaluate the business customers' needs and abilities in order to provide appropriate analytic solutions and facilitates usage of appropriate data access tools.- Advises business partners on how data and predictive models (processes, practices and technologies) play a critical role in improving business management, and optimization.
- Work with the business stakeholders to identify the business requirements and the expected outcomes. Determines optimum requirements to meet business needs.
- Model, frame and validate business scenarios that are meaningful and which impact on critical business processes and/or decisions.
YOUR RECIPE FOR SUCCESS
Analysis of large and complex datasets and identify meaningful patterns that provide actionable business results.- Identify what data is available and relevant, including internal and external data sources, leveraging new data collection processes such as geo-location information or social media.
- Assess the volume of data supporting the initiative, the type of data it is (images, text, clickstream or metering data) and the speed or sudden variations in data collection.
- Understand the use and ability to employ the appropriate algorithm to discover patterns. Examples include using statistical and data mining packages and dedicated frameworks such as Hadoop MapReduce.
- Coordinate data resource requirements between analytics team and engineering teams.
- Work with business relationship managers, data engineers, and analytics team members to translate prototypes into production.
- Reviews test plans and monitors testing process to ensure that business results are adequately tested with minimal risk.
