We are looking for an experienced Data Scientist, with a good data engineering background to join our Data Science team based across Europe.

The purpose of this role is to help discover insights hidden in the vast amounts of JATO automotive data, helping them to make smarter decisions. The successful candidate will produce new and creative analytic solutions by applying data mining techniques, conducting statistical analysis, and building high quality prediction systems.

Additionally, they will support the integration of multiple data sources related to sales volumes, pricing, product analysis, etc, which JATO has available on the cloud.



Key Responsibilities

  • Extract and query volume of data from structured, unstructured and semi-structured database in the cloud

  • Mentor other members of the data science team, supporting them on working with the cloud solutions

  • Able to web scrape data legally and ingest into JATO internal pipelines

  • Work closely with colleagues in Operations, Architecture, Delivery, Product, Support, and Engineering to collaboratively understand JATO service platform

  • Work end-to-end in the development of advanced data analyses and models, by gathering and interpreting the requirements, extracting and processing the data, conducting the analyses and modelling, and assisting in the development of the final solution

  • Deployment and monitoring of the developed solutions

  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders, both when capturing the problem and when presenting results

  • Successfully work within the Data Science team to share best practices, expertise, knowledge, and enthusiasm

  • Stay up to date with technology trends

    • Key Requirements

  • Degree in data science, applied statistics, machine learning, computer science or relevant field

  • Professional experience working on a data science or related discipline team

  • Experience in storing and extracting data in Azure

  • Experience with deployment of data science solutions

  • Experience with applied statistics and quantitative modelling (e.g. regression models, time series forecasting, statistical tests, machine learning models) / NLP techniques

  • Independent proficiency in the data science process including data cleansing, data validation, data modelling, model evaluation, visualization of insights

  • Proficiency using Python/R

  • Proactive and problem-solving mindset working independently to deliver value

  • Fluent in English

  • Experience with the Databricks environment is desirable
