Job description

As a Data Scientist you will play a key role in the growing use of Data Science at the DVSA and applying it to high stake decisions. You will work with colleagues from multiple departments and play an essential role in putting data and data science at the heart of decision making, increasing the impact of data science at the DVSA.

You will:

  • Support DVSA by using Data Science to create change and undertakes the development of statistical models to find patterns in data and transform them into organisational insight.
  • Engage with Service and Product owners to understand and define their data science requirements and make recommendations to address complex problems to inform strategic and operational decision making.
  • Contribute to data science initiatives and supports foundation work to implement plans for delivery of a new data science platform and solutions for the business.
  • Ensure self and team complies with DVSA (DfT) policies/statutory obligations when managing people, performance and finances. Ensures appropriate governance is in place.
  • Suggest and helps implement improvements to existing services.

Selection process details

How to Apply

To apply for this role, you will need to provide detailed evidence of your experience of the following sift criteria within your CV and Personal Statement:

  • Experience of developing complex solutions using a range of data science techniques, whilst understanding any ethical considerations

Sift & Interview Dates

The sift is due to take place week commencing 10th July and 17th July.

Interviews are due to take place w/c 24th July week commencing 31st July.

This interview will be conducted via a video interview, details of which will be provided to you should you be selected for interview.
