Introduction
Our client is a multinational information technology services and consulting company! They are looking for a Data Consultant to be responsible for ensuring data is correct and of high quality throughout the migration phases to a single source of truth.
The ideal candidate will have 3+ years’ experience in a technical IT role and 2+ years’ experience in data centre migrations.
Due to the nature or the role, you must hold a full British passport along with an SC clearance.
Key responsibilities
- Work with the Capacity Management team to ensure sufficient capacity exists for the current and future needs of the project
- Ensure the SSOT (Single-Source-of-Truth) data is correct, current, and complete
- Ensure that data is prepared for migration and project resources are aware of the current state of the data within the SSOT
- Ensure the installation and administration of the SSOT Tool
- Pre-configuration of any standard data elements within the SSOT
- Upload data from the various discovery tools into the SSOT
- Train the project team in the use of the SSOT Tool
- Use Transformation and Migration Services to understand the current state of data and determine which data values are missing
- Create Source to Target reports, Master Device Lists, and Data Completeness/Quality Reports
- Review contents of SSOT to identify inconsistencies between Source and Target configurations
Skills & experience
- 3+ years’ experience in a technical IT role
- 2+ years’ experience in data centre migrations
- Understanding of the data required to perform a data centre migration
- Microsoft SQL Server SQL Scripting (creation and execution)
- Experience with ETL or similar data manipulation tools
- Understanding of configuration management principles
- Strong Excel skills
