Position Overview:

Chemonics International seeks a Compensation Data Science Temporary Associate. The Temporary Compensation Data Science Associate is responsible for capturing, leveraging, and in some cases analyzing data to support the development, implementation, and administration of Chemonics' global compensation program. They will work closely with the Director of Compensation, business lines, and support divisions to prepare and provide data-driven insights and recommendations that align with established policies, practices, and procedures. The Associate will contribute to the continual improvement of compensation systems and tools by utilizing advanced analytical techniques and collaborating with stakeholders across the company.


Responsibilities:

  • Utilize data analysis techniques in support of the development, implementation, and administration of Chemonics' compensation program, including areas such as base pay, short- and long-term incentives, equity programs, and merit increases.
  • Coordinate with business lines and support divisions to develop and communicate compensation policies, standards, and procedures. With guidance, conduct training sessions, focus groups, and educational initiatives to enhance employee understanding of compensation.
  • Provide guidance based on data analysis, established practices/policies, and quality standards.
  • Assist teams in effectively communicating compensation decisions to staff.
  • Conduct benchmarking exercises and participate in global and domestic salary surveys to evaluate and guide compensation administration in line with the company's compensation philosophy.
  • Maintain accurate records and documents related to compensation, such as pay and equity reviews, job descriptions, job codes, compensation structures, and other relevant information.
  • Support new business efforts by providing timely compensation information to enable recruitment of top talent for proposal efforts.
  • Collaborate with the Director of Compensation to conduct comprehensive compensation reviews, leveraging data analysis to identify focus areas and develop strategies for leadership.
  • Coordinate the implementation of Chemonics' bonus programs, including tracking awards against budgets, drafting and sending communications, providing guidance on nomination processes, and collaborating with stakeholders.
  • Coordinate with the Director of Compensation to liaise with external compensation consultant and vendor relationships as needed. Coordinate international compensation survey resources for annual and ad hoc compensation reviews.
  • Support benchmarking of jobs against survey data and other market intelligence to determine competitive compensation ranges for each position.
  • Support job evaluations using established practices domestically and globally, potentially involving the development of salary scales.
  • Stay updated on federal, state, local, and international employment, compensation, and data privacy-related laws and regulations to ensure compliance.
  • Conduct research from various sources to provide data and prepare reports on compensation trends, best practices, and other relevant information.
  • Monitor existing compensation policies, guidelines, procedures, and bonus programs, making recommendations for improvement in close coordination with the Director of Compensation.
  • Under Director oversight, develop tools, dashboards, and infographics to assist stakeholders in making compensation decisions and enhancing understanding of job architecture and administration guidelines.
  • Serve as a resource for special compensation and HR-related projects and assignments, providing guidance on compensation methodologies, processes, analytics, KPIs, etc.
  • Actively participate in and contribute to continuous improvement efforts.

Requirements:

  • Temporary Position (Up to 6 months)
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as Data Science, Statistics, Economics, or equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum 0-2 years of experience in a data-driven role, preferably related to compensation or HR analytics.
  • Familiarity with conducting job evaluations and classifying positions using formal classification methodologies. Experience developing compensation scales (global or domestic) is a plus.
  • Willingness to learn HR practices and regulations such as FLSA classifications and pay equity laws.
  • Demonstrated focus on customer service and cultural sensitivity.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Demonstrated project management skills and the ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work independently and take the lead on initiatives, as well as collaborate effectively as part of a team.
  • Resourcefulness in problem-solving and a willingness to learn new skills.
  • Ability to handle highly confidential and sensitive information, with knowledge of data privacy regulations and best practices.
  • Ability to interpret policies and procedures effectively.
  • High emotional intelligence with an emphasis on empathy and compassion.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (high proficiency in excel) applications and word processing.

The Hourly Pay Range for this position is: $18.15 - $22.69.

An employee’s pay position will be based on several factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, performance, shift, travel requirements, and business or organizational needs.
