Job description
If you were the People Data Scientist now, here are some of the core activities you would be doing:
- Conducting exploratory data analysis to identify patterns, trends, and correlations in people and business data
- Applying advanced statistical techniques (e.g., hypotheses testing), predictive modeling (regression and machine learning) and advanced analysis (e.g., organizational network analysis)
- Designing, developing, and maintaining data visualizations using tools like Power BI to effectively track key people metrics and KPIs and communicate insights and trends
- Leading end-to-end data science projects from discovery through to product deployment
- Managing the people data ecosystem, including data governance and ethics definition, to ensure data quality and integrity
- Working alongside the HRIS team to enhance data accuracy, consistency, and integration and automate data processes and workflows
- Providing expertise, guidance, and mentorship across the P&C team to enhance data literacy and promote data-driven decision-making
- Collaborating across P&C team and with cross-functional partners to identify and prioritize data and insight needs for various people initiatives
- Partnering with our Information Services (IS) Business Intelligence and Data Engineering teams to share resources and methodologies and align on operating model principles and practices
- Keeping current with industry best practices and emerging trends in people analytics and data science
- Presenting findings and recommendations to senior leaders and stakeholders in a clear and actionable manner

- Develop predictive models to assess core talent metrics, such as attrition
- Development and evolution of our core people dashboards
- Inputting into and supporting rollout of new people analytics roadmap and operating model
- Audit, recommendations, and delivery of people data ecosystem enhancements
Are you our next People Data Scientist?
- You have 4 - 6 years’ related experience, and training in a data science, analytics, or similar field
- You have extensive expertise and experience in advanced statistical techniques (regression analysis), organizational network analysis (ONA), machine learning, and proficiency in data visualization tools like Power BI
- You are experienced with R, Python and/or SQL, querying, data mining and cleaning
- You have excellent communication skills and are experienced in storytelling with data to different stakeholders throughout the business to deliver compelling messages
- You can effectively drive data science projects from concept through to completion
- You have strong attention to detail and are able to maintain a high degree of accuracy
- You exhibit discretion when working with sensitive and confidential information
- You are proactive in identifying the root cause of issues and developing solutions
- You remain highly flexible and adaptable when faced with ambiguity
- You effectively balance autonomy and collaboration
- You inspire breakthrough thinking and continuous improvement
- You seek the best (sometimes not the easiest) solutions, with an unwavering commitment to do what is right
