The Data Protection Analyst supports the running of the office of the Data Protection Officer (DPO) and reports on performance (e.g. compliance assessment, privacy by design, rights requests and incidents).

You will play a key role in co-ordinating the Heathrow-wide privacy team; assisting with data subject access requests (DSARs) and managing external suppliers; maintaining and evolving the office of the DPO's online presence; responding to queries for DPO advice (e.g., highlighting available guidance, incident management); and administering, analysing and improving the end-to-end Rights Requests process.


  • Timetabling regular activities including compliance reviews, report production and communication events
  • Maintaining and strengthening the privacy champions network (e.g. through encouraging online community participation)
  • Acting as conduit for the privacy team to ensure timely and effective network responsiveness (e.g. submission of evidence for compliance review)
  • Maintaining and evolving the DPO's presence online (e.g. on Hub+, Yammer, Heathrow.com) analysing uptake of self-service options (e.g., online training) and formulating improvements
  • Being proactive in ensuring that projects get the DPO support they need (e.g. through scheduling Data Protection Impact Assessment participation and highlighting guidance)
  • Operating, maintaining and improving the Rights Requests process ensuring deadlines are met for the office of the DPO and supporting with the monitoring of end-to-end compliance
  • Assisting with management of the office of the DPO knowledge base to ensure integrity across published assets
  • Supporting the daily administration of the office of the DPO (e.g., managing the team inbox to ensure timely responses)
  • Establishing and maintaining the annual calendar
  • Preparing periodic and ad hoc reports
  • Ensuring that appropriate training/updates are received by the DPO function
  • Supporting the DPO with responding promptly to any data incidents that occur, including in respect of fact finding, internal reporting requirements and providing guidance on mitigations and lessons learnt.

  • Working knowledge of GDPR from a business perspective.
  • Excellent time management to work to strict statutory deadlines.
  • Fluency and excellent written and oral communication skills as they will be contributing to board packs and helping in presentations/training.
  • Experience of working in fast-paced business/office environments with regular as well as ad hoc requirements and immovable deadlines
  • Experience of working positively as part of a team as well as building and maintaining relationships with a range of internal and external stakeholders
  • Educated to a degree level or equivalent, or apprenticeship/other relevant work experience
  • Some/all of Office365, eDiscovery, SharePoint, web page design, Excel, Adobe Pro
  • Evidence of service design, implementation, monitoring and improvement

Working Location

Our agile approach offers the opportunity to combine home working with meetings, events and training at the airport. All roles involve some on-site working each week, so you’ll need to be based in the UK and within a commutable distance to Heathrow.
