Data Architecture & Data Engineering
This position needs someone with energy and passion to work with our existing data platform team and lead our operations team. In this role you must have a desire to deliver high quality output within challenging timelines. The ability to hit the deck running and make valuable contributions quickly will be critical.

you’ll deliver
- Lead an Operational Support team.
- Responsible for monitoring and ensuring data platform applications and data pipelines are running according to plan.
- Provide relevant comms to users.
- Working with the team of data engineers and data designers within an Agile framework
- Building knowledge of all data resources within NewDay LTD
- Define and implement monitoring processes and ways of working to ensure SLAs are meet and future development can be supported.
- Respond to user data queries raised.
- Triage SysAid incidents and provide resolution.
We need knowledge, experience + expertise in:
- Analytical and problem-solving skills, applied to data solution
- Proficiency with traditional database SQL technologies
- Experience with integration of data from multiple data sources
- Experience of CI/CD best practices
- Experience in technologies such as Spark (SQL, Python, Scala), Kafka.
- Experience in Scala programming language
- Stake holder management
- Business engagement and communications
And would love you to know or learn:
- Experience of ETL technologies
- AWS exposure (Athena, Glue, EMR, Step functions)
- Experience of relational database technologies (MS SQL Server, Redshift, Aurora)
- Experience with data solution BAU processes (ETL, table refresh etc.)
