The opportunity…
The Water Board Secretariat is a branch within Executive Council Office providing professional, technical, and administrative support necessary for the proper conduct of the business of the Yukon Water Board. The Secretariat supports the Board, which is an independent administrative tribunal in making informed licensing decisions, which provide for the conservation, development, and utilization of waters in a manner that provides for optimum benefit for all Canadians and for the residents of Yukon in particular.
The Data Management Specialist is responsible for the development and maintenance of the Yukon Water Board’s (YWB) technical information systems (website, databases, data management and systems development, data extraction and analysis, data storage and management). The position represents the Secretariat’s interests in interdepartmental working groups to enhance broad understanding of water data management.
Because it is a small office, the Data Management Specialist will provide front counter, telephone customer reception and service, prepare and upload Board meeting materials to the website, process applications, licences, and advertising, and perform other administrative duties as required.

Essential Qualifications
- Considerable experience planning, developing, implementing, and managing a range of information management programs (paper & electronic)
- Experience producing presentations, status reports, and other project related reporting and documentation.
- Proficiency with MS Office
Candidates who have education, training, and/or experience equivalent to the essential qualifications listed above may be equally considered.
