Job description
Positive Employment is currently recruiting for a Acquisitions and Data Manager based in Barnet.
The successful post holder will manage the Acquisitions Team and E-systems Officer ensuring the effective provision of resources. To advise and assist the Service Development Manager with the development of policies for resources management ensuring optimum use in line with the principles of value for money.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Undertake staff management and development, recruitment and selection within the designated teams.
- Develop training materials and roll out briefing/training to frontline delivery staff.
- Support Service Development Teams to develop and implement stock, performance improvement and promotional plans for the service, monitoring delivery and reviewing plans as appropriate.
- Assist with the monitoring of supplier selection as required, improving stock targeting and delivery to customer groups.
- Liaise with colleagues to develop and maintain an effective online catalogue, identifying future developments.
- Liaise with external database providers, such as ESS, ensuring that information about Barnet’s stock holdings is accurate and up-to-date.
- Manage the electronic procurement, management and deletion of stock.
- Provide systems administration functions on library systems, such as payment of invoices.
- Manage the inter library loans process including that required for specialist collections and services.
- Assist senior managers in the development of stock contracts.
- Produce statistics, management information and reports from library systems.
- Use performance data to inform decision making within work areas and recommend changes to improve efficiency and effectiveness service wide.
- Support the Service Development Teams with the implementation of any necessary future development of Library Strategy in line with corporate priorities.
- Support the Service Development Teams in the planning, design and implementation of new technologies, services, and products in the Library Service, reviewing suitability, costs, staffing implications and training needs.
- Develop and maintain partnerships as appropriate to service objectives.
- Seek customer feedback, ensuring it is handled appropriately and sensitively.
Personal Requirements:
- Experience of implementing and ensuring compliance with complex legislative requirements, including, safeguarding and health and safety.
- Experience of monitoring budgets, knowledge of stock management and associated processes, experience of using library management and finance IT systems, Knowledge of data collection, use and reporting.
- Experience of recruiting, managing, motivating and developing teams to ensure excellent service delivery.
- Experience of dealing with a range of staffing issues including disciplinary, grievance, sickness and performance related issues.
- Enhanced DBS certificate.
- 5 Years work references.
WORKING HOURS AND RATE:
- Hours: Mon - Fri / 9am - 5.15pm
- Rate: £23.61 p/h Umbrella
