12 month contract to run from September 2023: This is a key role, assisting the Data Protection Officer (DPO) in the recording, monitoring, and giving of advice on the security and safety of data and ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and guidelines (including, but not limited to the GDPR).

You will provide all required support to the DPO, manage the Data Protection Analysts, be a visible expert for Heathrow in data protection and be able to respond to enquiries from authorities and data subjects and within the business.

  • Delivering and maintaining compliance with data protection laws and policies, assisting in driving and embedding change across all areas of the business. Helping in managing Heathrow’s risk under GDPR.
  • Enabling change through the virtual privacy team
  • Publishing compliance results, insights, and implications
  • Defining and running interfaces between BAU business partners/change programmes and the office of the DPO
  • Maintaining a comprehensive and current understanding of the regulatory and advisory landscape regarding GDPR and similar regulation
  • Highlighting changes to the external environment which should promote change for Heathrow through necessity or opportunity
  • Providing privacy subject matter expertise as requested
  • Co-ordinating brand-wide engagement beyond Heathrow
  • Representing Heathrow at internal and external events
  • Developing and contributing to fit-for-purpose policies and guidelines
  • Validate and manage subject access or other privacy/data requests
  • Design and deliver awareness and training as required
  • Manage risks for the office of the DPO and ensure good practices are role-modelled
  • Providing management support for the DPAs and deputising for/assisting the DPO as required

  • Educated to a degree level (or equivalent)
  • Familiarity with data protection regulation, particularly the GDPR
  • Track record of translating regulatory requirements into projects which have delivered new capability that has been applied and realised tangible benefits
  • Experience of working in complex, multi-supplier environments and track record of success with waterfall and agile delivery approaches
  • Demonstrates experience of building, maintaining, and influencing relationships with a range of internal and external stakeholders
  • Enterprise and/or solution architecture qualified
  • IAPP or CIPP/E certified or similar

Ideally you will have had some exposure to Cyber and strong MS Suite skill (Sharepoint).

Working Location

Our agile approach offers the opportunity to combine home working with meetings, events and training at the airport. All roles involve some on-site working each week, so you’ll need to be based in the UK and within a commutable distance to Heathrow.
