Data Management Analyst
(full-time permanent position)
Location: Hamilton, Ontario

Our Hamilton office is looking for a Data Management Analyst to join our team. This role will support our Data Management team through data collection, analysis, reporting and presentations.
Responsibilities:
- Provide support in planning, data collection, data analysis, reporting, and presentations.
- Transform datasets from a variety of inputs to create one or more data sets that can be used to analyze, track, and predict the performance of different infrastructure assets.
- Complete statistical modelling and computations to provide analytical solutions for our clients' business problems.
- Write SQL queries, functions, stored procedures, and triggers.
- Work with large amounts of granular data, from structured and unstructured data sources.
- Participate in various structured and ad-hoc analysis projects.
- Assist with the development of and implementation of decision support systems, maintenance management systems, and flow analysis systems for various clients.
Required Experience and Qualifications:
- A diploma, degree, or experience in either Statistics, Data Science, Mathematics, Database Development, Computer Science, Business Intelligence, or another highly quantitative discipline related to data analysis.
- Strong quantitative research skills, including cleaning and pre-processing of data, assessment of data quality, designing and implementing models that explore spatial and/or temporal dynamics.
- Experience with SQL Server including the use and creation of SQL queries, functions, and stored procedures.
- Requires strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work through problems using first principles thinking.
- Must work effectively with a team and independently.
- Ability to translate and communicate complex concepts to non-technical individuals.
- Ability to apply spatial statistical methods and/or data science to real-world problems.
- Ability to produce high-quality, accurate work in a timely way, and in accordance with multiple project deadlines.
- Excellent scientific and quantitative problem-solving skills, with demonstrated ability to build, test, and iterate on a variety of model forms.
- Troubleshooting skills.
- Enthusiasm about solving complex problems with a variety of analytical tools.
Experience and Qualifications Considered an Asset:
- Experience designing relational databases and ensuring their stability, reliability, and performance.
- Experience with Microsoft Office Suite including strong MS Excel skills, especially using pivot tables, macros, and ODBC data sources.
- Strong basics in programming languages such as Python, R, and Excel-VBA.
- Experience creating dashboards (Power BI, Excel, Dash, Tableau, etc.)
