Data Inputter - Fixed-term role, 35 hours per week for a 12-month period (with possibility of extension), starting early- March 2023.


Salary £21,425 per annum

United Response is looking for a Data Inputter to join our newly formed project team which aims to deliver a new care plan system (Nourish) to the organisation.

What is a Data Inputter?

As a Data Inputter the successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that all critical care plan and supporting data for the people that we support is collated, cleansed and loaded onto the new Nourish Care plan system in preparation for launch to the organisation.

As a Data Inputter you will work as part of a team to ensure the data needed for Nourish is readily available and accessible to both our front-line staff and people we support from the very day the system goes live.

You will be responsible for building strong working relationships with our local management teams in order to obtain locally held information and gain an in-depth understanding of; how staff teams record maintain and access critical care plan information, where and how existing care plan and support records are stored and establish what we need to do to ensure the information is available on the new system.

This role will require excellent team working and communication skills to be the person that bridges the gap between data held locally at service locations and the Nourish system. You will be essential in providing local-level assistance to our management teams cascading your knowledge of using Nourish and the process of data migration that must be followed in order to successfully transfer required data from existing sources (I.e., Microsoft Word/Excel/PDF templates) onto the new system.

You will instruct and signpost staff to additional supporting materials, guides and videos so staff teams can continue to maintain their data and use the new application effectively.

What activities would a Data Inputter cover?

The successful candidate will be provided with full support planning training and equipped with the materials and knowledge needed to enable you to carry out the following responsibilities as a Data Inputter;

  • Build solid working relationships and work closely with United Response’s Management Teams to identify and obtain access to all essential people we support care plans and files within each area of the organisation
  • Fully understand how plans & files are updated and establish access to the most up-to-date, accurate versions of files at each service in preparation for collation and cleanse
  • Validate and reconcile all critical data captured as part of the collation & cleanse for all People We Support and populate the data into People We Support’s individual profiles directly on the Nourish system
  • Arrange and attend regular on-site visits and meetings with United Response’s Management teams who will play a vital part in achieving our data objective and seek assistance from the responsible registered manager where required
  • Act as a focal point for the management and staff teams by supporting staff with queries about the data migration process, the value of accurate data and how and where things will be found
  • Closely work with and report regularly to the Nourish Project Management Team to organise and evaluate input of the critical data and escalate any issues with missing critical data or information we are not able to transfer
  • Assist with phased launch of the Nourish system ensuring support is on-hand to help staff with change
  • Update colleagues of important changes that would affect data migration or use of Nourish

What would the Data Inputter be trained on?

As a Nourish Data Inputter you will be fully briefed on the Nourish Project and the key role you will undertake. You will receive direct training and support from the Nourish Project team in order to carry out your core responsibilities.

  • Face-to-face Service visit to meet our teams on the frontline and understand our ways of working

    • Our Key Data Requirements & Data Migration Objective
    • Weekly/Monthly Targets
    • Service Visit to understand locally how we operate, where we hold data and challenges we face at local –level.
    • Data Strategy / Approach – the timeline and process of getting the data we need and how we will approach each Area of the organisation

    4. Using Nourish and uploading People We Support critical data
    • Nourish system overview
    • Training on the Nourish system - Understanding of core system functions and features
    • Uploading Data - How to carry out your role on the system

    5. Support planning, legislation and United Response policy and best practice
    • Important legislation when it comes to people’s data
    • United Response policy, GDPR

    Regular sessions will be arranged with the Data Inputter and Project Management team to review progress in line with targets, highlight issues/challenges and capture important lessons.

    What is essential / desirable for the role?

    Understanding of person centred support and United Responses values in practice.
    Full UK Driver's license

    Data analysis experience
    Knowledge or experience of MS Teams

    Experience or knowledge working in the charity or care sector
    Knowledge or experience of Nourish or similar support databases / care plan systems

    Able to travel to locations on short notice (within 1 week)

    Adaptable – able to work well as part of a team and independently

    Experience using a variety of IT equipment

    Use of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint

    Excellent communication skills
