This role will lead the development of one or more specialisms of data management (e.g. Metadata Management, Data Quality Management, Data Modelling & Design, Master & Reference Data Management and Document & Content Management) and will be responsible for implementing and orchestrating data governance & management practices across JLR.
As one of the key members of the Enterprise Data Team they will also be able to influence and shape JLR Data Strategy and will work closely with their peers in the Enterprise Data Team, JLR’s Digital function and other Business functions. Strong communication, influencing and delivery skills are crucial to be successful in this role, as the management and value of JLR’s data assets will be key to delivering the strategy successfully and at pace.
Data Strategy and Data Management are fast evolving topics. We’re not looking for someone with all the answers on these topics. No one has that. We’re looking to assemble a diverse team with deep experience in data that will shape data at JLR and who are keen to keep learning and adapting as the technologies in this area continue to evolve. The team will strive to deliver value, quickly, to the most critical enterprise data assets.
WHAT YOU WILL NEED
You’ll need previous experience of Data Management, particularly Data Governance, including experience and knowledge of various data management tools and platforms (such as Informatica or Collibra).
You’ll need working knowledge of Metadata Management, Data Quality Management, Data Modelling & Design and practical experience with cloud hyper-scalers (particularly GCP and AWS).
An excellent level of ability to understand data structures, analyse data flows across systems and processes, and identify key owners and actors. A high level of data literacy and desire to continue to learn new data tools and skills. A sound knowledge of supporting end-to-end business processes and underlying data, in a complex and multi-domain organisation. A proven track record of translating business requirements and needs into prioritised data requirements, as well as delivering operational processes and standards to embed data management practices.
SO WHY US?
Bring all this to the home of premium innovation, and you’ll find the opportunities to further your career with a world-class team, a discounted car purchase and lease scheme for you and your family, membership of a competitive pension plan, private medical cover and performance related bonus scheme. As a manager, you’ll also be able to select one of our luxury premium vehicles to lease at a fraction of the cost. All this and more makes Jaguar Land Rover the perfect place to continue your journey.
This role may offer the opportunity for hybrid working where you can split your time between working from home and in the office. At Jaguar Land Rover, hybrid working is a voluntary, non-contractual arrangement providing employees with more choice and flexibility around how, when and where they work, if suitable for their role. Further details can be discussed with the Hiring Manager at interview stage.
Please be aware that we may close this vacancy for applications before the stated deadline if we receive a high volume of interest. We strongly advise you to submit your application as early as possible.
Jaguar Land Rover is committed to equal opportunity for all.
