We are looking for an enthusiastic individual to join the Registry Data Management and Training Team. You will be part of a team that delivers a full and responsive service to support core functions of the University. You will have an excellent attention to detail and experience of building data on record systems, enabling a consistent and methodical approach to the creation and maintenance of curriculum records within the Student Record System. You will have the ability to work consistently under pressure, prioritise your own work, and adhere to deadlines set.
As part of a wider Student Returns and Data Management Team, you will be providing essential support for the delivery of our service. Your primary focus will be on building and maintaining curriculum and course data, identifying issues and inaccuracies with the data and resolving these.
You will also have the opportunity to work with data that is returned to external statutory bodies, such as the Higher Education Statistics Agency (HESA), which directly affect the University’s League Table positions and other national performance indicators.
You will work cooperatively and flexibly with staff across all teams within the Academic Registry to proactively contribute to continuous improvement activities, and to deliver an excellent service. You will liaise with academic members of staff at the University, and colleagues working in the University’s Academic Quality unit where you should form strong working relationships. Although this is not a supervisory role, you may be asked to train and supervise Student Ambassadors occasionally, if you are looking to gain some supervisory experience this part of the role could be of huge benefit.
You will have a range of GCSEs, including English Language and Maths at Grade C or above, or appropriate equivalent experiential learning. You will have demonstrable experience of current administrative practices in a busy office environment and experience of databases and record systems and organising, updating, and maintaining accurate computerised records and files. An ability to organise and present information both verbally and in writing is required, along with experience of customer service skills.
You will benefit from 42 days annual leave including bank holidays and discretionary days and will be automatically enrolled into the Local Government Pension Scheme. You will also have access to other staff benefits such flexible working, sustainable & Active Travel Scheme, our Sir Tom Finney Sports Centre and our on-site Pre-School Centre.
