Lead Data Engineer
London, Hybrid

We have an exciting opportunity for a talented individual to join our dynamic team based in the UK. As part of the Data & Analytics program, you will be at the forefront of using data and insights to tackle critical business challenges, driving growth and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and optimize data architecture and pipelines in line with business goals
- Solve complex data problems to deliver valuable insights for achieving business objectives
- Create data products to enhance productivity for engineers, analysts, and data scientists
- Advise, mentor, and coach colleagues on data standards and practices
- Foster a culture of sharing, scalability, stability, and operational efficiency in data solutions
- Define and execute the Analytics Data Engineering roadmap, collaborating with enterprise BI for enhanced data lake and real-time reporting
- Lead process improvement and project management engagements for business units and cross-divisional initiatives
- Evaluate, implement, and deploy emerging tools and processes to improve team productivity
- Communicate and educate on analytic data engineering capabilities, standards, and processes
- Collaborate with machine learning engineers, BI, and solutions architects on technical architectures for strategic projects
Job Specifications/Qualifications:
- Master's degree in relevant field (computer science, software development, mathematics, etc.)
- 6+ years of experience in a rapid development environment, preferably within analytics
- Ability to work with internal and external stakeholders effectively
- Experience in enhancing code quality and implementing best practices across teams
- Advanced technical skills in SQL, scripting languages (preferably Python), API consumption, and ETL tooling
- Knowledge and experience in modeling techniques and tools like Spark, Scala, SAS, R, Python, Bayesia, H2O, Storm, Yarn, and Kafka
- Experience querying databases (SQL, Hive) and working with big data platforms (Hadoop ecosystem, Azure, SAP HANA, Apache Spark)
- Familiarity with data visualization tools like Tableau, Power BI, D3, and ggplot
