Data Engineer
We are seeking a Data Engineer with strong Tableau experience to join JP Morgan in Bournemouth on an initial 12 months contract to help with the data reporting for a portfolio of projects.
Description
We are a Project & Program Management function within Technology and are seeking to modernise the delivery of our data and reporting to internal stakeholders, as well as modernising the way we work day-to-day. We currently run a weekly manual extraction process for Project and Program data from ServiceNow and feed this data into Tableau, via 22 Excel tables. Our immediate need is for the candidate to perform a number of enhancements, and BAU activities, within this Tableau environment. We are, therefore, seeking a candidate who knows Tableau, not someone who would need to learn it. Along with these enhancements, we would like the candidate to be able to suggest any quick fixes on how to improve the manual process, preferably by the use of API calls from Service Now, to provide real-time updates. Thus, experience with Service Now API calls would also be beneficial.
Mid-Long term, the candidate would build an understanding of our long-term goal, which is to work with our internal Data Scientist to completely re-write the dashboard, generate associated analytics, interrogate our legacy data and deliver a wide range of AI/ML powered solutions for our team of global Project and Program Managers.
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Working experience with both relational and NoSQL databases - advantageous
- Experience and proficiency across the data lifecycle
- Experience with database back-up, recovery, and archiving strategy
- ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) tools experience
- BI (Business Intelligence) tools knowledge - Tableau
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Data Analyst Certification
- Proficient with Data Analysis tools
- Demonstrable business acumen with a customer-oriented focus

Salary: Up to £400.00 per day
