As an Assistant Data Engineer, you will work closely with our data engineering team to support the collection, analysis, and visualization of geotechnical data. You will play a vital role in ensuring the accuracy, reliability, and efficiency of our data systems and processes.
The job
- Help develop and maintain existing tools, written in VBA and Python
- Help manage the tasks of the Data Processors
- Provide technical support for all software used
- Data entry of gathered offshore geotechnical data and processed onshore laboratory test results
- Maintain and develop geotechnical database, GIS and other relevant software
- Address and resolve any undiscovered issues in a timely manner
- Quality assure data entry and during output stage
- Production of reports, logs, and data packages
- Any other duties deemed necessary, which are within the bounds of the incumbent’s competence and function
The person
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Understanding of data engineering principles, methodologies, and best practices.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, SQL, and/or R, and using GUI frameworks such as PyQT, Tkinter)
- Experience with data extraction, transformation, and loading processes.
- Knowledge of data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) is a plus.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work with large datasets.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills.
