ICG ICM PMIA (Big Data) AVP Role
Institutional Credit Management (ICM) works closely with our Institutional Client Group (ICG) business partners to serve as a critical component of our First Line of defence (FLOD) for wholesale and counterparty credit risk management. ICM is an ‘in business’ credit management function. A critical component of ICM is the delivery of technical / analytical capabilities to support the delivery of; Portfolio level monitoring, Limit setting / monitoring and operational review / disposition of arising credit risk indicators. Portfolio Management Infrastructure & Analytics (PMIA) is the entity in ICM responsible for designing, building, delivering and maintaining such technical / analytic capabilities, in a globally common, flexible and comprehensive data centric manner.
ICM is a function established within the last 12 months and is in the ‘build’ / ‘transform’ stage of operations. A lot of the work effort is new build work. This requires significant research and fact finding to design and deliver ICM PMIA big data solution.
PMIA, as a function, is structured to have three vertical: Data, Analytics and Controls. This position will sit the Data function with the below Key responsibilities, reporting to the PMIA Data lead.
Key Responsibilities
As a member of the Data team you will be responsible for:
Help design, develop and deploy big data flows based on business need, solution architecture and technical feedback/review. Create Data Flow documentation to support source to target system integration requirements, including transformation rules Data analysis- assessing the suitability of existing and potential new data for use Creating functional and technical documentation to support delivered data assets Being a point of contact with stakeholders, often presenting back to them a story through which data can solve Supporting the team leader and the team, as a core data contributor, in the interpretation / realisation of business requests in consideration of specific data expertise. Exploration of data sets available and identification of new sets to facilitate the proactive identification of Credit Risk events. Ensure that all focused data solutioning is deployed in compliance with all prevailing Citi policies, specifically Citi Data management policies. Over time evolve to become an ICM Data expert with deep knowledge of the interaction of different data sets and ‘interplay’ between them. Work across ICM PMIA verticals to ensure robust data quality conditions, metrics and actions are documented and systemically enforced. Working as a team member collaboratively to support data provisioning, simulation and hypothesis proofing of analytic routines by data analytic focused team.
Expected Experience
Experience of cloud based technologies such as GCP, AWS or Snowflake. With knowledge of core cloud computing concepts including compute, storage, networking, databases, business continuity, identity and security.
Extensive hands-on Big-Data administration, and development experience
Has finance, and ideally wholesale credit, limits and covenants experience. Hands-on experience in Pyspark, Dataflame, Phython, Linux, Autosys, Apache Airflow, Tableau, MySQL, Bitbucket, Confluence, Appian Microsoft SQL Server, HDFS, Yarn, Hive, Hue, Spark, Sqoop, Informatica, HDFS and other big data technologies. Working knowledge of various database technologies like Cosmos DB, Apache Cassandra, etc. Exposure and hands-on experience working across the technology stack (“Full stack”) Strong experience in the design, development, and support of IT solutions. Experience working with Onshore/Offshore teams. Excellent written and verbal skills. Logical and critical thinking skills. Well-organized, methodical, and disciplined approach. Willingness to work outside standard working hours if project timelines are required. Proven experience working with large, complex datasets A demonstrated acceptance of accountability for tasks undertaken. Exceptionally high standards are a given expectation. Experience of strategic ‘data’ engagement to support a wider ‘data agenda’, beyond immediate work colleagues.

Exceptional communication skills and a passion for advocating data as a differentiator in approach. An energetic solution focused individual prepared to be immersed in and dedicated to ‘data’. Desire to excel in a new fast moving data centric work environment primarily focused on building as opposed to running.
Qualifications
Data centric BSc undergrad. Preferable; Msc with a data / data science / data engineering analytic focus.
