Lead Data Engineer will be a key member of the Business Intelligence professional family, supporting Data and Insight across the division. Role will form an integral part of the common data platform strategic methodology, ensuring the leadership community consume best-in-class reporting outputs. Lead Data Engineer will contribute to the MI community, creating and maintaining an effective working climate, whilst being an exemplar champion to a continuous improvement ethos.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Understand the business priorities of the Public Service leadership community, ensuring the Common Data Platform product is aligned to the evolving strategy
  • Support Transformation activities by representing the MI community in strategic discussions. Ensure that data requirements are properly represented so delivered solutions represent our data capability, ensure data stewardship and management principles are embedded in new initiatives

You are ingenious

  • Ensure Capita Public Service utilises best practise data and insight techniques to maximise business efficiency, whilst delivering service outcomes in line with customer expectations and contractual requirements.
  • Provision of high-quality data visualisations and analysis to help answer key organisational questions. Support decision making at a variety of levels and across a range of thematic areas

You are collaborative

  • Effective management of relationships with key stakeholders within the Public Service leadership community
  • As an Azure based Lead Data Engineer, you will collaborate with a divisional development cohort which will include developers, architects, analysts, and product owners to deliver, best in class tooling and cloud infrastructure.
  • You will be committed to continuous learning and sharing best practise across the Public Service MI community, as well as the opportunity to work with some of the brightest and best in a holistic format, evaluating the technological solution configuration for Azure SQL, within each client sector, you will be supported and encourage to obtain Microsoft Azure certifications.
  • Take a prominent position within the Public Service transformation team regarding the retirement and transition from Avaya CcaaS platform to Amazon AWS Connect
  • Become a member of the Divisional Performance BI Team in the continuous development of the common data platform

You are effective

  • identifying opportunities that will deliver efficiencies and defined improvements identified through MI analysis.
  • Maintain/develop a monthly MI Governance data architecture regime involving key stakeholders from the leadership community

What we’re looking for:

  • The ability to read, analyse and interpret data at a scientific and technical operating level, superior experience of data transformation
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving skills and the ability to use information to develop creative value add solutions
  • Data production and ingestion experience
  • Proven track record of leveraging technology to streamline business processes
  • Experience of working within a transformation project to deliver benefits associated with data improvements
  • Proficient in the MS BI stack, SSRS, SSISS SAS. Data modelling/warehouse design
  • Microsoft Azure (Data Factory, ADF, SQL, RLS,RBAC, Dynamic data masking, DevOps, Ingestion Pipelines, API, Rest API, PSQL
  • Python
  • Oracle
  • AWS Connect analytics (or the capability to learn)
  • Avaya HVS analytics (or the capability to learn)
  • Lead Data Engineer will require the innate capability of excellent problem-solving skills to apply data science to business needs. In addition, they will possess the pre requisite of excellent communication and storytelling capabilities, as they will collaborate with key leaders throughout the business
  • Lead Data Engineer will be responsible for converting raw data into usable information for analytics and business decision-making. They will utilise various systems operating in diverse client sectors, clinical, education or local government. Capita Public Service will require access to the best possible performance metrics across various market operating sectors via the use of “best in class” technical knowledge and solutions.
