If you are passionate about leveraging data to fuel innovation and possess a keen eye for ensuring data quality, accuracy, and relevance, we invite you to join our Multi-Level-Testing (MLT) team as a Data Engineer/Analyst.

We are Cambridge University Press & Assessment, a world-leading academic publisher and assessment organisation and a proud part of the University of Cambridge.

About the role

As the Data Engineer/Analyst, you will be a key member of the MLT team, building data pipelines and providing data engineering services to the wider team.

You will assess business needs and make recommendations for designing or improving data flows which de-risk operations and increase efficiencies.

You'll also:

  • Design and develop data stores, catalogues, flows, systems, and validation mechanisms.
  • Conduct, interpret and present the findings of statistical analyses to monitor the performance and validity of products, malpractice, grading, and marking approaches.
  • Use data visualization to communicate the relevant findings from analyses or product evaluations to the wider MLT team, informing the monitoring and continuous improvement of MLT products.
  • Work with data engineers, data analysts, data scientists and psychometricians across the business to understand both where data is held and the quantity and quality of that data. Inform and advise the MLT team on decisions about what types of data are accessible and what analyses are feasible and appropriate.
  • Understand the importance of quality management and data stewardship, in order to meet all customer, regulatory, recognition and GDPR requirements.

About you

As the Data Engineer/Analyst, you will have a strong quantitative aptitude, capable of effectively navigating through extensive datasets while maintaining a keen eye detail. Your adept interpersonal skills will enable seamless collaboration at all levels, both internally and externally.

You will excel at extracting data from diverse sources and skilfully merging them into structured datasets. Your ability to tackle intricate and innovative data challenges, even in the absence of established protocols will set you apart.

More About You
