IT Summer Placement - Data Developer
Duration: 12 weeks commencing June 2023
Location: Perth, Reading
Salary: Circa £20,100 per annum pro rata

Our Business Energy data analysis summer placements provides real hands-on experience through a 12 week placement in our Event Platform team. Throughout your placement, you will have the support of a business mentor and manager, who will provide guidance and support to enable you to reach your full potential.
Working as part of our multi-disciplined Information Analysis and Design team, we have the opportunity for a student to gain the knowledge and experience needed to work towards a Business Analyst role. You will need the ambition to become an expert in data analysis and requirements professional contributing to Digital website and data infrastructure projects.
You will work with our team of analysts and software developers on the understanding and documentation of project requirements, design works and integration of key IT systems.
Our summer placement students work collaboratively in a variety of contexts, while also taking ownership of their role by working under their own direction to drive action forward. There will also be networking and presentation opportunities, specialist sessions and support from our graduates.
What do I need?
We have opportunities for those studying degrees inclusive of; Computer Science, Information Systems, or other IT degrees. Our opportunities are open to students who are entering their final year of study in Autumn 2023 year or those who have already graduated.
We'd love you to have some practical work or project experience that reflects your passion for the energy sector, as well as demonstrable experience of working in a team. You'll also be comfortable working to and setting stretching individual targets and using your own initiative to overcome challenges and should have a genuine interest in SSE and the prospect of a long-term future with us.
