What will you be doing at DeepL?

DeepL is looking for a passionate Senior Data Analyst to join the Customer Success Operations Team. You’ll work in partnership with the Customer Success Operations Director to support the wider Customer Success team (Onboarding & Enablement, Customer Success Management, and Digital Success). This role is critical in enabling the Customer Success team to leverage valuable insight to support its customers and drive customer retention and expansion.
You will sit within the Customer Success team but work closely with our Commercial Analytics team.
Your role will involve large amounts of stakeholder management and great communication skills. We expect your typical deliverables to be data analyses, reports and presentations summarizing analysis and insights, dashboards or other visualizations that communicate key insights and data trends, and recommendations for improving business processes and workflows. We expect that you will play a key role in defining and tracking KPIs and metrics.
You’ll have an aptitude for cross-functional collaboration working with both our Engineering and Product tracks(especially our Data Platform team, Business Technology teams) as well as our GTM tracks (Marketing, Sales, and Customer Success and Support).


Your responsibilities

  • Analyze (often large volumes of) data to generate actionable insights or uncover business opportunities
  • Collaborate with stakeholders from multiple teams to identify business opportunities, needs, requirements, and proposed solutions.
  • Contribute to defining the goals of the Customer Success team by providing data analyzes, and insights and supporting strategic decisions with data (e.g., churn analysis, account load assessment)
  • Support day-to-day needs and initiatives of the Customer Success team by providing data-driven insights, identifying business opportunities, and evaluating initiatives
  • Assist in developing documentation, processes, and tools that enable stakeholders to use data and make informed decisions independently
  • Enhance data literacy within Customer Success by providing guidance, training, and support in effectively using data for decision-making
  • Act as a liaison between the Customer Success team and the rest of the Commercial Analytics team, facilitating effective communication and collaboration
  • Work closely with the Commercial Analytics team, providing feedback to its strategy and improving products, such as data tables, models, self-service tools, or processes, to align with business needs

About you

  • You have professional experience as a Data Analyst or Data Scientist or Business Analyst, ideally within a fast-growing start-up or scale-up environment
  • You bring experience working with Commercial Teams (in particular, Customer Success and/or Sales) and with commercial data and product data
  • You're eager to learn and have an impact
  • You have excellent communication skills; you can clarify the "question behind the question" and easily communicate technical topics clearly to stakeholders with varied backgrounds, and translate business questions to technical requirements.
  • You enjoy collaborating with stakeholders to identify opportunities proactively
  • You have a strong working knowledge of SQL.
  • You have strong analytical skills with commercial acumen, with the ability to find opportunities and caveats
  • You maintain a pragmatic balance between quick results & analytical rigor
  • You are skilled at Data Visualization & Analytics; experience with Metabase is a plus
  • You are fluent in English, which is our company language
  • Nice if you also have experience with Salesforce
