Job Title: Data Analyst (Part-Time, Job-Share and Full-Time)
Location: Birmingham (Remote and Hybrid working options available)

The Opportunity:
As a data Analyst you will work in partnership with stakeholders from a variety of internal teams to create and deliver MI reports, dashboards, and solutions. You will be involved in the production of a portfolio of reports, ad-hoc analysis, and projects that will help the business make better data-led decisions and streamline processes. On top of generating business insights and presenting analysis findings, you will aim to challenge the status quo by introducing new perspectives and innovative thinking to drive new methods and you will represent the MI/Data team in a variety of interesting projects.
You may be an Data Analyst looking for a fresh new challenge or you may even be working as a Reporting Analyst, Financial Analyst, MI Analyst or Data Scientist and looking to take your career in a different direction.
Key Areas of the Role:
- Responsible for all areas of MI reporting.
- A good communicator able to present findings and solutions to senior stakeholders, in a clear and concise manner.
- Embrace and encourage the use of technology to deliver MI/BI in the most effective ways
- Drive continuous improvement and challenge the status quo by introducing new perspectives and innovative thinking beyond recognised ways of doing things.
- Comprehensive experience of data extraction, cleansing, and validation from our core platforms and systems.
- Document as-is and to-be business reporting data models, processes, and workflows, identifying relevant problems with existing systems and processes.
- Assist with the design, production, and on-going maintenance of detailed, accurate and consistent monthly reporting dashboards, including management accounts, month end financial results, monthly key performance indicators and capacity reporting.
- Create new reporting models which combine and summarise data from multiple sources using Excel and other reporting/analytical tools.
- Analysis of complex datasets to create a clear, accurate and accessible reports with the aim of helping the wider business to plan effectively.
- Be responsible for providing crucial data led insights, trend analysis and other factors like seasonality which will help the wider business to identify opportunities for improvement.
- Be a Team Player by seamlessly working alongside our wider Engineering teams, including tax, finance, and credit control.
- Knowledge of Reconciliation methodologies with a good understanding of financial concepts.
- Assist with requirements for internal and external audit and ensure SOX compliant
Your skills and experience:
- Strong analytical skills and previous experience of working in a MI Analyst/Data Scientist capacity preparing MI and Insights for key stakeholders.
- Excellent numeracy and organizational skills to ensure a strong focus upon accuracy and maintenances of company documentation & processes
- Experience of using business intelligence and reporting tools such Power BI to a high level.
- Proven experience of using Excel, Power Query and SQL
- Has worked in industry to gain experience of:
- Finance with a good knowledge of VAT requirements.
- Project work to deliver and support MI reports or solutions
- Ability to work autonomously, as well as effectively collaborating within a team
- Good knowledge and understanding of IT and data concepts.
- Creative problem solving and critical thinking.
- Effective communicator, with a high level of interpersonal skills, demonstrating the ability to explain complex issues in a concise and straightforward way to a wide range of audiences.
- Ability to effectively manage time and resources to consistently prioritise and deliver within a fast-paced environment.
- Desirable experience of the following:
- Working in a customer focussed environment, ideally within an insurance or Engineering business.
- Knowledge of engineering / inspection terminology and working practices.

In this role you can also work towards a Level 4 qualification (HNC) in Data Analysis – dependant on meeting qualifying criteria.
