Wiltshire Council is committed to sustaining high quality provision for children and young people with special educational needs, by ensuring robust financial management of its high needs budget and developing innovative models of service delivery to identify and respond to additional need at the earliest opportunity.
As a key part of this commitment we are establishing a dedicated team to take forward an initial two-year programme of work to define, lead and implement a transformative, whole-system strategy for high needs financial sustainability, within the framework of the DfE “Delivering Better Value in SEND” initiative.
This is an exciting opportunity for the right candidate to join at the start of an important period of change for the SEND and Inclusion Service, with the chance to shape strategy and service design supported by a well-resourced multi-disciplinary programme team.
ABOUT THE ROLE
This role sits within the Children’s Services Performance & Information Team and involves working as part of the wider Delivering Better Value in SEND multi-disciplinary team. As Data Analyst you will support the Insight Analyst with all aspects of data and information management, including analysis as part of the Delivering Better Value in SEND initiative.
This post is responsible for the collation, reporting and analysis of management information, ensuring that key data required for the programme is captured and is retrieved in such a way to provide accurate and clear information.
The role is responsible for scoping, designing and writing reports using appropriate software (Microsoft SQL Server Reporting Services) to produce data from case management systems as required as part of the programme.
About you
You will have HNC or NVQ Level 4 qualifications in statistical analysis or information management, or relevant experience. You will have knowledge of the performance and information landscape within Children’s Services, knowledge of SEND services is desirable.
You will have significant experience of working with large datasets and maintaining the integrity of data during manipulation and analysis. You will have experience of data matching and data cleansing. You will have expertise in use of reporting tools (for example SQL query language and SSRS) to query the data warehouses and write reports for the service.
You will have excellent IT skills including Advanced Excel skills e.g. graphs, pivot tables, filtering.
