Working Hours: Monday to Friday (37.5 hours per week)
Location: Bath/Hybrid (working from our Bath office 3 times per week)
We are expanding our Digital Product Team with an Analyst, to assist with the end-to-end execution of experiment and CRO initiatives across our portfolio of websites.
The purpose of this role is to ensure our storefront and experimentation teams are provided with proactive and regular analysis and reporting to measure performance and act where appropriate.
You will help shape and influence the design and flow through the Lovehoney websites to support the optimisation of user experiences that are intuitive, engaging and provide value to the business. You will be assisting the team in the discovery, design, and development of a wide variety of products, features and journeys, including optimising page layouts, promotional devices, campaign pages, user self-service tools, loyalty engagement journeys and more.
You’ll be responsible for undertaking exploratory analysis to uncover new opportunities for optimisation, pre-launch analysis to support the prioritisation framework and reporting on the impact new code releases have on key metrics and user journeys for each website.
You’ll be a true advocate for the customer, putting your understanding of ecommerce, evidence gathering, statistical analysis and reporting to full use to help form best-in-class website features and functions that will improve the user experience and deliver on business objectives. Key Responsibilities
- Regularly review and interrogate the Lovehoney analytical packages to identify emerging user struggles and to measure & report on the performance of newly deployed features and products
- Gather and evaluate user feedback, transaction and clickstream data using tools such as GA, ContentSquare and Tableau in collaboration with UX, product managers and developers
- Use familiar web analytics tools such as GA360, GA4, GTM and Contentsquare as well as develop bespoke analytics tools and data pipelines using SQL, Python and R
- Help develop experiment plans and help shape the experiment roadmap
- Deliver insights to Product Managers to inform their decisions and help them prioritise their backlog
- Design effective experiments (A/B tests) with data driven hypotheses, calculating appropriate sample sizes & run times and ensure they are run in a scientifically valid way
- Analyse experiment data when ready using techniques such as Bayesian inference and Null-hypothesis t-testing
- Report on results and test outcomes & keep stakeholders informed, producing clearly articulated summaries of research & testing activities for relevant business stakeholders and the wider business.
- Collaborate with our Digital Analytics Implementation Team and Data Teams to help define what we need to measure on our sites to quantify the successes & failures of product features & initiatives
- Ad-hoc exploratory analysis of user journeys
- Create dashboards in R, Tableau and Google Data Studio to present data drawn from multiple sources in a meaningful
- Set up and run data pipelines alongside our BI team, connecting data sources as required for analysis and monitoring
- Assist in improving our processes and tooling to enhance our testing & analytics capabilities.
- Advise teams on the right metrics to use when setting up experiments and the right way to retrieve those metrics from our data sets during the evaluation phase.
- Seek to challenge stakeholders to drive accountability and ownership.
- Work closely with our Data/BI and Commercial Insights teams
- Deliver ongoing support to product teams to assist them at every stage of the experiment lifecycle, from helping them to decide on the right type of experiment to use, all the way through to making sure they reach the right conclusions when analysing the results.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
- A Statistics or Science degree (or similar qualification)
- Curious and proactive with a strong attention to detail
- 1 - 2 years' experience working in a commercially driven team
- Advanced in the use of Google Sheets or Excel
- Experience in online retail analytics
- Strong working knowledge of Google Analytics
- SQL, Python, ETL Systems and R for data analysis
- Experience with BigQuery and Tableau or similar visualisation tools.
- Technical experience of analytical tracking, website tagging and creating intricate funnels.
- Experience of A/B/n and Multivariate Testing including a solid understanding of Bayesian & Frequentist statistical approaches
- Knowledge & experience with R (ideally including the Tidyverse), SQL and Excel in an experiment analysis context
- Be an expert at data storytelling with the ability to distil complex quantitative and qualitative data down to key insights and present actionable recommendations in an accessible and coherent way
- Work with the wider analytics teams to ensure we have the correct instrumentation in place to answer business questions. For example, working with the GTM team to support the definition and briefing of site analytics tracking improvements
- Strong interest in Digital and/or Agile Product Development
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, changing environment
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to explain complicated data analysis to non-technical users.
