The Data and Analytics Team works across Synnovis to manage, maintain, and develop the Operations Performance Management System (OPMS) and Management Information (MI) tools.
The OPMS framework is essential to ensure appropriate actions are being taken on a timely basis, at the right level, to enable pro-active decision making at all levels of the business from the Laboratories to the Board. The Data and Analytics Team work to ensure that activities ae collected, collated and reported in an accurate and timely manner.
We are recruiting for the position of a Data and Analytics Analyst to join an inclusive team that is responsible for supporting operations and providing visible performance information through OPMS and MI tools to support all services and teams to actively review and improve performance.
This position is available on a fixed term of 6 months.
This role is essential to enable the continued sustainability and development of OPMS principles and tools. OPMS has been built based on a large number of inter-related Excel spreadsheets that cover all aspects of operational reporting across Guys & St Thomas’s, Kings College Hospital and Princess Royal United Hospital. The Royal Brampton and Harefield hospital is being added in August 2023.
The post holder will work closely with the Data and Analytics Manager to ensure accurate reporting OPMS and performance review throughout Synnovis.
The vast majority of the work will require the successful candidate to work in Excel combining with other members of the team to deliver timely reports for a variety of stake holders including senior management. In addition they will also need to be able to work on the maintenance of OPMS when requests are received from lab users.
The successful candidate will display logical problem-solving skills, be an experienced IT user, have troubleshooting experience and the ability to review operational reports. Coupled with effective interpersonal and communication skills, the successful candidate will work within the local team as well as multiple stake holders to ensure the effective maintenance and development of OPMS tools.

- Work with department teams to drive OPMS principles into the operational model.
- Support OPMS sustainability by actively assisting in area-by-area business wide sustainability review.
- Support the Data and Analytics Manager with the monthly reporting cycle and ad-hoc reporting requirements.
- Where appropriate, support implementation of OPMS into new areas of the business / external business development opportunities.
- Experience in reviewing, interpreting and validating data.
- Proven troubleshooting experience in a data analysis environment.
- Experience in reviewing operational reports to determine basic characteristics such as report flow, format and function.
- Experience of challenging people in a constructive way and promoting behavioural change.
- Experienced IT user with proficient working and practical knowledge of Excel, Word and Outlook.
- Excellent working knowledge of advanced Excel functions and advanced formulas.
- Excellent literacy and numeracy skills.
