Are you a Data expert looking for a new challenge?

As Data Lead you will be responsible for leading a team of data specialists: governance, data products, sql developers and PBI developers in the development and implementation of data solutions for the FA. The role will report to Head of Strategy, Insights and Data and work closely with business stakeholders and DTE. The Data Lead will be responsible for executing the company's data strategy, ensuring the quality and accuracy of data, and leading the team in the development and deployment of data products and services.


What will you be doing?

  • Execute the company's data strategy
  • Lead the team in the development and deployment of data products and services
  • Work with stakeholders to understand their data needs and develop solutions to meet those needs
  • Lead and implement change across the organisation as we progress on our Data journey
  • Ensure the quality and accuracy of data
  • Work with DTE build and maintain data pipelines and stores
  • Work with data scientists to develop and implement data-driven models
  • Work with business users to interpret and communicate the results of data analysis
  • Stay up-to-date on the latest data technologies and trends
  • Mentor and develop junior members of the team
  • Promote data literacy and upskilling across the organisation

  • Executes additional tasks as required in order to meet FA Group changing priorities.
  • Comply with all company policies and procedures to ensure the highest standards of health, safety and wellbeing can be maintained.
  • As part of The FA's commitment to ensuring a safe environment for everyone in football, every employee will be required to complete a DBS check. The level of the check required will be based on the activity of the specific job role and in line with legislation and government guidance.

What are we looking for?

Essential for the role:
  • Extensive experience in a data-related role
  • Strong understanding of data its processes and products eg Power BI dashboards, SQl and data governance
  • Experience of leading and implementing change across an organisation
  • Experience with data warehousing and data visualization tools
  • Experience with SQL, Python, and R
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent stakeholder management

Beneficial to have:
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Ability to lead a small team of data professionals
  • Ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure

Our Organisation
