Senior Data Catalogue Manager Inside IR35
Contract Term: 6 Months
Contracting Authority: Cabinet Office
Location: Hybrid – London, Bristol, Manchester, Liverpool, Glasgow, Newcastle or Norwich (Hybrid working)
The Data Management Team supports this mission by rolling out the enterprise data catalogue across the department and improving data governance practices through setting frameworks and standards.
The data management team promotes best practice, data management products, manages
commercial relationships, designs and implements best practices around data quality and
ownership across the department.
As a Senior Data Catalogue Manager your main responsibilities would be to:
· Roll out data cataloguing across the department.
· Maintain a centralised metadata catalogue including overseeing data ingestion and extraction processes, and ensuring the catalogue is up-to-date and accessible to relevant stakeholders.
· Collaborating with cross-functional teams, such as data engineers, data scientists, and business analysts, to understand their metadata needs and requirements.
· Communicating effectively with stakeholders to gather metadata requirements, resolve issues, and provide guidance on metadata-related matters.
· Work with stakeholders to define, maintain, and support application, business glossary, business intelligence, data integration, data modelling, and database management resources.
· Understand stakeholder data quality and master data management requirements and tooling capabilities.
· Facilitate onboarding new teams and projects onto the shared environments.
· Develop, publish and promote best practices.
· Partner with vendors so we can make the best use possible of the tools.
You’ll have relevant experience in:
· Experience and knowledge with Enterprise data cataloguing tool;
Informatica.
· Experienced and knowledgeable with data management processes, metadata.
· Passionate and knowledgeable about data solutions.
· Ability to accurately handle multiple tasks and projects in a fast-paced environment.
· Strong analytical skills, able to drill to detail when problem solving.
· Experience defining critical success factors and monitoring progress.
· Strong strategic thinking and ability to analyse and interpret data.
It’s desirable that you have:
· Experience of working with cloud Informatica product, catalogue, DQ and MDM.
· Familiarity of the public sector and government processes.
· Familiarity with cloud solutions for data quality and master data management.
