Job description

If you have experience as a data analyst, and are looking for a role in data that allows you to contribute to a business’ strategy and development, then Play Sports Network may have the perfect role for you.

We are looking for someone who has worked in data and data analytics before, and is looking for the next step in their career. You’ll have good stakeholder management and rapport building skills, as well as being confident interpreting and presenting data to internal and external stakeholders. You’ll have experience using Python, R, and MatLab, as well as working with SQL databases.

The Role:

You will report into our Head of Insight, and will be responsible for analysing, interpreting and delivering data from all of our social media platforms and other sites. This includes data from YouTube, our eCommerce sites, and the GCN App.

Content reporting – finding out what makes our audience tick and how we can make more content like this

Real Time data analysis – when, where, what are our viewers watching, where are they watching from, and what are they watching?

Creating models to derive new insight from existing data

Support our teams across all areas of the business with up to date information

Working alongside our Agile development team to ensure that data is delivered efficiently

Skills, Knowledge and Experience:

Experience interpreting large databases into insight

Analytical skills with the ability to collect, organise, analyse, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy

Working knowledge of Python, R, Matlab

Ability to write performant queries to get to the data you want from SQL databases

Experience using tools to display data, such as Google Data Studio/Tableau/Microsoft Power BI

Using tools to extract data from a wide variety of sources
