About the Role
You will join a growing and exciting international business and play a key role in ensuring we deliver costs savings, maximum value and a quality service across the organisation. As a Data Analyst, you will sit in the Corporate Management Information and Business Intelligence (CMIBI) team, working closely with the OS Procurement team, as well as the wider OS business. You will be a key player in supporting the business to deliver on our strategic objectives, with an initial focus on our Procurement objectives.
You will be responsible for the collection and analysis of data from various internal and external sources. You will use your experience to identify trends and opportunities, presenting your results in a clear manner selecting the appropriate visualisation tool.
You will be responsible for liaising with team colleagues to understand specific issues, proposing possible solutions supported by accurate data analysis.
What we’re looking for
As a Data Analyst, being able to engage with your stakeholders and build trust and relationships is critical. Your organised and methodical approach will enable you to maximise the influence that this role has in supporting the Procurement team as well as the wider business; and your collaborative way of working will bring Procurement understanding and expertise into the Central CMIBI team for the first time.
This role will be pivotal in enabling the business to operate efficiently and economically, supporting the overall success of Ordnance Survey.
  • You will have a proven track record in the following essential criteria and competencies:
  • Analysis of large, complex data sets from a variety of sources
  • Presenting data, results, and other relevant information clearly and concisely
  • Tailoring presentations to different audiences
  • Experience and strong skills in all Microsoft Office applications and other reporting suites with the ability to produce dashboards in Power BI or similar tools
  • Proven track record in engaging with and influencing a range of stakeholders
  • Experienced in the use of SAP / D365 or similar
  • The ability to be flexible in your approach to work and prioritise tasks appropriately
  • Ability to proactively identify trends and areas of opportunities within spend and performance datasets*
  • Develop and maintain performance metrics*
  • Produce and present management information reports*
  • A Procurement lens on these last 3 would be advantageous, though not essential

Location
We embrace a hybrid working model at OS and understand there is no one size fits all in relation to how we work. We have a fantastic HQ in Southampton, Hampshire where you will be required to spend 2 days a month with the remaining time being a personal choice as to whether you work from home, at one of our regional offices or spend more time at OSHQ.
