NetWatch - Data Analyst

Having recently taking on investment NetWatch are in the position to hire a data analyst for the first time. This is a new role that will expand in responsibility and scope over time as our services evolve.

The successful candidate with be experienced with ETL and data mining processes, web scraping experience would be a benefit, and you’ll be capable of designing and building dashboards to help display and understand company data. It is essential that you can thrive on individual projects or as part of a team. You can expect to work with information derived from social media, people data and large public datasets.

Key Responsibilities

  • Sanitising and cleaning up large data files using ETL processes to deliver data in CSV format which can be loaded into databases
  • Work closely with KRI Analyst team to transform data from disparate sources into sensible CSV documents for loading into databases
  • Take large publicly available datasets from the internet to enrich and generate useful datasets for the NetWatch team and products to search.
  • Work with engineering team to build MI dashboards based on the data feeds available from our various platforms.
  • Helping design intelligent data structures from disparate sources
  • Mining & Scraping information from the web

Essential Skills

  • Experience with ETL processes
  • Excellent written and oral communication
  • Coding ability in language of choice
  • Ability to work with API’s

Desirable Skills

  • Familiarity and experience with web scraping
  • Experiencing with a variety of large datasets
  • Experience working in an office or similar role

IMPORTANT: Please note that the first 6 months of this role is office-based and will require the successful candidate to be within a commutable distance to Birmingham City Centre. There will then be hybrid working opportunities to be agreed with your line manager.
