From our roots as a family business, we are known today as Nella Cutlery and Food Equipment Inc. We import, manufacture and distribute a full line of brand name, professional food equipment to our clients throughout the hospitality industry, which range from restaurants, hotels, institutional kitchens, supermarkets, bakeries, etc. Along with the thousands of kitchen items we supply at our retail store and showroom, we also specialize in custom fabrication, professional installations and knife sharpening services.
Position Overview:
As a Purchasing Data Analyst, you will play a critical role in supporting the procurement and supply chain functions of Nella by utilizing data analysis and insights to drive informed purchasing decisions. Your primary responsibility will be to collect, analyze, and interpret large volumes of data related to purchasing activities, sales volumes, supplier performance, market trends, and cost optimization. By leveraging your analytical skills and expertise, you will provide valuable insights and recommendations that contribute to the overall efficiency and effectiveness of the procurement process.
Key Responsibilities:
Data Collection and Analysis:
Gather and consolidate purchasing data from various sources, such as ERP systems, supplier databases, and market research reports.
Clean, validate, and transform data sets to ensure accuracy and consistency.
Apply statistical techniques and data mining methods to identify trends, patterns, and correlations within the data.
Perform root cause analysis to identify factors impacting procurement performance and supplier relationships.
Procurement Performance Evaluation:
Develop and maintain key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to measure and evaluate procurement performance.
Conduct regular analysis of purchasing data to assess supplier performance, pricing trends, quality issues, and delivery timelines.
Identify opportunities for cost reduction, process optimization, and risk mitigation.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop action plans based on data-driven insights.
Supplier Management and Relationship Building:
Conduct supplier evaluations and assessments using data-driven criteria, including pricing, quality, reliability, and responsiveness.
Monitor supplier performance and track adherence to contractual agreements.
Collaborate with suppliers to gather relevant data and insights, ensuring accurate and up-to-date information.
Identify potential new suppliers based on market research and analysis.
Reporting and Presentation:
Prepare and deliver regular reports, dashboards, and presentations to stakeholders, summarizing key findings, trends, and recommendations.
Communicate complex data analysis results in a clear and concise manner to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Provide actionable insights and recommendations to support strategic decision-making processes.
Process Improvement and Automation:
Identify opportunities for process improvement and automation within the procurement function.
Collaborate with IT teams to develop and implement data-driven tools, systems, and processes to streamline purchasing operations.
Stay up to date with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in procurement analytics.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Statistics, Economics, or a related field.
Proven experience as a data analyst, preferably in a purchasing or supply chain role.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work with large data sets and derive meaningful insights.
Proficiency in data analysis tools such as Excel, SQL, and statistical software (e.g., R, Python, or SAS).
Familiarity with ERP systems (SAP preferred), data visualization tools, and business intelligence platforms.
Knowledge of procurement processes, supplier management, and supply chain concepts.
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present complex information in a clear and concise manner.
Detail-oriented and highly organized, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
Strong business acumen and understanding of the strategic impact of procurement decisions.
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Salary: $45,000.00-$65,000.00 per year
