Position Details

Position: Fixed Term

Pay: £24,043 - £30,000 per annum

Hours: 37.5 hours per week

Office Location(s): Hybrid working with at least 2 days at closest office hub. (Access to personal equipment – laptop / PC required)

Start date: Aug 2023 – Jan 2024

Reports To: Digital Transformation Team

Position Summary

MSDUK is the UK’s leading non-profit membership organisation driving inclusive procurement. We promote the ethos of diversity and inclusion in public and private sector supply chains by identifying and introducing innovative and entrepreneurial ethnic minority owned businesses (EMBs).

We are currently looking for a positive, engaging, proactive candidate with a can-do attitude and passionate about technology and product development to work with the MSDUK Digital Transformation team in supporting with their newly identified database of businesses. The role will also support the development of the Minority
Businesses Matter project, a joint initiative of MSDUK and Heart of the City that is funded by the UK Shared
Prosperity Fund.

Data and Research Analyst

  • Review and analyse organization's data infrastructure, plan future databases, and implement solutions to store and manage data for our users.
  • Look through the historical data and identify and sort them according to the business needs.
  • Maintaining internal and external databases, gathering data from different sources, identifying, analysing these data and report to the DT lead.
  • Perform data scanning on the surnames verification and perform research on the identified database of businesses to enhance data quality.
  • Extract data and build code scripts to automate few processes and handle exceptions.
  • Look through the historical data and identify and sort them according to the business needs.
  • Document the analysis and steps towards data verification.
  • Prepare the final report on the analysed data towards business growth

Technical Skills

  • Must have work experience on data projects for a minimum of 3 years.
  • Must be able to consume open APIs and should be able to develop scripts in Python / VB.
  • Must be reliable and highly accountable for projects, ensuring all team members understand the deliverables and offering reminders as needed to keep the project on track.
  • Proven IT skills including use of spreadsheet, data management tools, ERP and Microsoft Office suite.
  • Ability to assess risk and identify key stakeholders necessary to remove barriers.
