This position will have several stimulating challenges, including responsibility for proposing and implementing innovative solutions to improve access to and availability of (mainly) financial information. He/she will also be responsible for optimizing the use of data management systems by the various teams.
The Data Analyst - Data Engineering contributes to the implementation and evolution of data sets and corporate data management solutions such as data warehouses and data counters, data integration, data ingestion and data visualization solutions.
The Data Analyst is responsible for defining, documenting and monitoring the organization's data solution requirements. He/she must ensure understanding of the business needs related to the solutions he/she supports. He/she is responsible for coordinating the formalization and implementation of business rules to ensure data accuracy, completeness, consistency and compliance with business needs.
Specific responsibilities
- Build data solutions collecting data from multiple data sources, then enriching and exposing them for users
- Carry out data explorations in advance of building data solutions
- Build ETL/ELT data loading workflows to integrate, transform and expose data
- Implement integrated functional and system test scenarios during application modification, to ensure operational integrity of corporate data solutions, perform unit, functional and non-regression testing.
- Support the business partner during acceptance testing
- Support data solutions in production
- Perform data extractions for the business team
- Participate in SAFe agile ceremonies such as: IP planning, daily Scrums, sprint planning, end-of-sprint demonstrations, etc.
- Oversee the iterative release of solutions, working with teams from different business units to establish and execute the necessary tasks, according to a well-established sequence.
Other responsibilities
- Promote the reuse of existing components, participate in the selection of software packages, services or external components (e.g. cloud computing) and, as a last resort, recommend in-house construction when required (REUSE, BUY, BUILD).
- Work in collaboration with various Business and IT stakeholders to design components that respect the company's orientations, and are viable, efficient and cost-effective.
Technical profile
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, business computing, information systems, computer or software engineering, or other relevant training at the same level
- Over 5 years' experience in information technology, including 3 years' experience relevant to the position
- Experience in building data warehouses and business intelligence solutions (Snowflake, Databricks, Azure Data Factory, Gen2, PowerBI)
- Good knowledge of ETL/ELT data loading tools
- Mastery of SQL and SSIS data integration tools
- Mastery of techniques, reference frameworks and methodologies specific to his/her field of expertise (SAFe®, Agile, DevOps, Software Development Lifecycle, etc.)
- Knowledge of the insurance and financial services industry (asset)

- Excellent communicator, structured and an outstanding technical popularizer, with a good ability to synthesize and work effectively in a team.
- A natural leader with the ability to influence and guide others, particularly solution delivery teams and collaborators on the periphery of his or her field of action.
- Strong problem identification and resolution skills.
- Excellent coordination, negotiation and decision-making skills.
