Data Analyst

We have an opportunity for a Data Analyst with a good understanding of database environments, the ability to harness a range of methods to manipulate data and automate processes.
The role will be varied but at its core, will involve the preparation, analysis and processing of a broad range of data. Examples include smart meter customer targeting, customer service call handling metrics, commercial insights and regulatory reporting to Ofgem and government.
Most reporting will involve working closely with the wider business, either to assist with operational targets and monitoring, as well as providing dashboards and MI insights, to inform the companys strategic decision making.
An eye for detail is essential as are good communication skills and the ability to articulate effectively and professionally at all times with both technical and non-technical colleagues.
Skills and Experience Required:
- Ability to:-
- manipulate and analyse data and develop algorithms using SQL (Particularly using SQL Server)
- competent at optimising code with an understanding of execution plans and how data types, indexes, structures can impact the performance of large data operations
- develop reports in Excel, SSRS and Power BI Desktop
- develop ETL processes using SSIS
- System and database administration experience to automate routine tasks
- Experience working in energy industry desirable
- Able to work under pressure in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment
- Ability to work on own initiative
- Excellent time management skills
- Communicate effectively with personnel at all levels
Salary: £45,000 per annum
Base: Birmingham International with some home working
