The Role:
We have an opportunity for a Business Data Analyst, who is passionate about developing systems and processes and utilising data to drive excellent operational and financial performance, to join our Scottish Water team.
You will be collaborating with others to find, then scrutinise data before converting it into insightful and useful information that supports decision making across the business.
Here are some of the activities you will be involved in…
- Continuous improvement and development of the works management system that will drive service delivery and generate the data / information required to transform business performance.
- Ensure the quality and integrity of reports and dashboards are fit for purpose and consistent.
- Develop a reporting change governance process ensuring standards of reporting is maintained.
- Liaise with stakeholders and senior management presenting recommending actions and thus driving accountability and process improvement.
- Support and educate the business in the analysis of performance metrics and how to understand trends.
- Share best practice and standards with colleagues and stakeholders to identify opportunities to improve processes and drive consistencies.
- Support the team on root cause analysis on trends and identify actions required and interrogating information available.

We’ll be looking to you to ensure that the team’s processes are efficient, effective and work priorities are met, so it’s essential that you have previous administration experience and we’ll expect accurate Microsoft Office skills with good intermediate knowledge of Excel and error free data entry.
As you’ll be liaising with colleagues, clients, and suppliers, great communication skills are also essential.
