We have an exciting opportunity for a Data Analyst to join the Transmission & Distribution (T&D) team who are responsible for the payment, validation and reporting of gas costs.
Working as part of our team, you will help us to protect Centrica’s costs and provide assurance the charges we pay networks are correct. Our aim is to investigate where our data differs from our industry partners and confirm which details are correct, make amendments to our data or recover historic industry costs.
You will be gaining insight from large volumes of high dimensional data in order to investigate and understand complex business problems.
To succeed in this role, you will be comfortable with various data preparation, modelling, analysis and/or visualisation techniques, such as statistical analysis, predictive modelling and pattern recognition as well as being confident using, SQL, SAS, VBA and access.
Key Accountabilities:
Review and validation of Gas Transportation (GTs) invoices.
Raise informed challenges to GTs.
Supporting the gas systems manager with the management of industry data flows.
Raise process issues to internal business areas to improve future working practise and avoid future costs.
Analyse and problem solve using data sets to identify process improvements and root causes of issues and implement appropriate solutions
Work with third party agents, building relationships and gathering information to resolve issues relating to the accuracy of data.
Build strong stakeholder relationships with internal and external parties, focussing on clear and effective communication.
Knowledge & Experience required:
An understanding of the UK Gas market would be preferable
An understanding of gas data flows and industry processes.
Confident user of SQL or SAS.
Confident with Microsoft Excel and Access
VBA desirable but not essential
SAP desirable but not essential
Location is flexible however you will be required to travel to our Leicester and Windsor office when required to attend meetings and collaborate.
