Balfour Beatty has an exciting opportunity for a Data Analyst to join our growing team in Thurnscoe
As a you Data Analyst you will:
- Provide telematics data for reporting to wider SBU’s
- Assists the business in the production of Plant telemetry business cases that quantify potential business and environmental benefits
- Defines and documents ‘as is’ and ‘to be’ processes and the key data require
- Analyse business Plant telemetry data and produce accurate telematics data to drive business improvements, environmental benefits, and cost savings
What you'll be doing
Planning
- Assists in identifying and advising on high-level solution alternatives to those proposed by the business, ensuring the solution remains aligned with the strategic roadmap
- Agree high level time frames for completion of work
- Ensures throughout the solution development process that there is traceability back to the business requirements
Operational Responsibilities
- Quality Management assessment of processes across the plant telematics department
- Analytical assessment and support of department’s business digital objectives
- Holds OEMS and telematic date providers to account for agreed deliverables
- Support in managing external and internal data, with analytical recommendations for improvement opportunities
- Overall responsibility from bringing in Supplier / OEM data into Balfour Beatty agreed platforms
- Works with the business and customers to agree business requirements
- Works on defining business requirements with subject matter experts and producing a road map for these along with any new development opportunities
- Identifies the impact of any functional changes that happen on the business and advises on how this should be managed and communicated so that the change is landed successfully, and benefits achieved
- Proactively provides recommendations to current ways of working within IT and the business, supporting the implementation, and embedding of any changes to current processes
- Documents key processes within area of responsibility concisely
- Actively identifies risks, issues, dependencies and escalates upwards to ensure appropriate risk mitigation
Customer & Stakeholder Management
- Recognises the importance of the stakeholder through gaining feedback and using it as a basis for decision making - shares key findings with colleagues
- Takes responsibility to work with customers to methodically investigate, analyse, review, define, communicate, and document business requirements; and gain approvals as required
- Conducts regular meetings and produces regular data dashboards and communications for stakeholders to keep them up to date with site and product progress as applicable
- Actively works to establish a good understanding of the needs of key business stakeholders, and aligned against overall business objectives
- Helps to identify ways in which telemetry technology can be used by the business to drive efficiencies, improve sustainability targets, and deliver greater value for the customer
Business Development
- Supports business change activities through development of business generated telemetry data
Who we're looking for
The following qualities/experience are essential:
- Has a strong understanding of Application program interfaces (API)
- Strong analytical and business analysis skill
- Strong stakeholder management skills and proven experience in dealing with senior business users, determining requirements and priorities as well as resolving issues
- Good interpersonal skills that enable working relationships to be developed at all levels across the business
- Able to take responsibility, work on own initiative
- Demonstrates teamwork at the highest level, highly collaborative approach, among the first to volunteer to help others succeed.
- Highly customer and delivery focused, meeting and exceeding customer expectations
- Excellent numeracy, analytical and statistical skills/Knowledge required with advanced Microsoft Office experience and capability
- Communication of complex information in attractive and easily digested formats, proven record of finding innovative solutions to complex problems.
- Excellent planning and organisational skills to co-ordinate reporting, control and assurance activities across a significant portfolio of programmes and projects
