Are you an analyst looking for a new challenge, or someone who enjoys solving problems looking for their first role in data or a career change? If so, we have exciting opportunities within the Data Products area.
You will work within the MI Transform or MI Hub areas and will help support the wider business with their reporting and business intelligence needs. The role requires the development of end-to-end data solutions, from requirements gathering to insight, and provides exposure to many business areas.
MI Transform is focussed on strategic change, improvement and innovation initiatives that help us maximise the value from our data by providing better MI and BI services to the business.
The MI Hub provides centralised reporting, analytics and insight services to the business whilst endeavoring to reduce duplication, drive best practice, promote self-service, and support other data teams.
In addition, we promote flexible working, and we are committed to incorporating fun into the new smart working approach.
About you
We are looking for someone who is numerically minded, with a logical approach to problem solving and an interest in programming and analytics. Someone with good written and verbal communication skills and who is confident in making suggestions when they see there is a better alternative. Coding experience isn’t strictly required as any necessary training or coaching will be provided.
Main Responsibilities
- Provide data analysis and easily digestible business reports in a timely fashion.
- Support the business by encouraging the self-service of information.
- Collaborate with business areas to ensure the collation of clear requirements.
- Ensure a high level of data quality through documenting processes, reconciling results, and conforming to Data Governance standards.
- Maintain good communication with customers and provide regular updates where required.
- Continuously develop knowledge in all aspects of the business to help provide analysis and insight.
- Proactively challenge and support decision making within the business and projects.
- Support colleagues and contribute to the culture of continuous improvement, knowledge sharing and personal development within the department.
Desirable Skills and Experience
- Ability to interpret and analyse data
- Experience in MicroStrategy, BigQuery, SAS, SQL or other BI/Reporting tools and technology.
- A methodological approach to problem solving
- Attention to detail
- Strong communication and relationship-management
- Good time and resource management
- Good operational knowledge of the Admiral business.
