Summary:
As a Senior Clinical Data Analyst, you will be creating and managing the data assets 3Aware provides to our customers so they can ensure the safety and efficacy of the medical devices they used for patient care. You will be responsible for the management and refinement of large volumes of structured and unstructured clinical data and clinical vocabulary/terminology mapping; data cleansing, de-identification and normalization operations (such as NLP), and ensuring data integrity and quality. You will use business intelligence, query, analytic and statistical software to interpret and transform data. You will coordinate data suppliers and customers to establish robust data operations processes.
The ideal candidate will have experience working in a healthcare setting, an advanced data management and analytical skill set, and the ability to effectively communicate with business and technology leaders both internally and externally. This role will be hands-on data analysis in the near term with the long-term goal of building out a data operations team. This role will report to the Chief Data Officer.
What you'll do:
- Establish processes for the exchange and management of patient care and medical device data, including defining data standards and robust, secure transport mechanisms
- Filter and "clean" data to normalize and structure data to meet HIPAA "safe harbor" de-identification standards and prepare data to support current and future use cases
- Data analysis including statistical aggregation, terminology mapping, syntactic and semantic normalization, natural language processing, and other advanced analytics algorithms
- Collaboration with software developers to plan and construct the architecture of model deployment
- Summarize and communicate results to both internal and external stakeholders, including review and approval process for delivering data assets to internal stakeholders and customers
- Contribute to the company's knowledge of data mining and visualization best practices
What you bring:
- A four year degree or equivalent work experience
- 5+ years of experience as a data analyst (or similar) in a healthcare or research setting
- Healthcare data terminology and interoperability domain expertise (e.g., EHR/EMR data standards and workflows, HL7, OMOP, SNOMED, RxNorm, ICD-10, CPT4, etc…)
- Strong understanding of Relational Databases and Data Warehouses
- Experience with SQL, Python, and R or equivalent required
- Experience with data analytics software (Snowflake, Looker, etc…)
- Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills
