Come and join our team. The Attenborough Surgery is an award-winning surgery, we are a single practice PCN. We work out of state-of-the-art modern premises in Bushey, and have an additional 3 branch sites, all within 15 minutes of each other. We have a growing combined list size of approximately 30,000 patients.
The practice clinical system is EMIS Web. We also use AccuRx, eConsult and other virtual platforms as well as Ardens.
Job Summary
We are looking for a highly motivated, enthusiastic and committed administrator with excellent communication skills to join our friendly and forward-thinking team. We will require you to be a methodical and systematic administrator with a high level of accuracy and focus on attention to detail.
You will have a good understanding of general practice and how we work enabling you to code the correct information into the patient clinical notes from all correspondence from hospital and other services.
To thrive in this role, you will enjoy utilising your exceptional organisational and prioritising skills, combined with excellent attention to detail. Problem-solving on a day-to-day basis around issues relating to your work, you will also enjoy working closely as a team to achieve objectives and ensure that your workload is managed in a timely manner.
About us
We are a hardworking and friendly practice, with 5 GP partners, 13 salaried GPS, Nurses, HCAs, Paramedics, Pharmacists, Dietitians, first contact physiotherapists, and social prescribers, all supported by our receptionists and administrators.

Job description
The following are the core responsibilities of the Data Administrator. There may be on occasion, a requirement to carry out other tasks; this will be dependent upon factors such as workload and staffing levels:
a. Accurately SNOMED coding data on EMIS Web into the patient record
b. Dealing with Routine and Urgent Tasks from clinicians and non-clinicians in the practice
c. Processing unmatched results
d. Processing unmatched out of hours reports
e. Sorting and circulating work in main reception which has been completed by the GPs
f. Processing outlook emails
g. OPAL
h. Back up/external hard drive change
i. Process PMAs/all other reports that companies pay for
j. Process copy notes requests paid for by Sols/Cos
k. Minor ops audit for appointments requested
l. Allocate new baby 6 week checks and 1st imms appts
m. Check that 6 weeks check appointment was attended and if not investigate why
n. Post off 6 weeks check slips and file copies
o. Quickbooks invoice/payments/reports/reminders for payments
p. Processing quarterly audits
Person Specification
Qualifications (Essential)
GCSE grade A to C in English and Maths
Desirable
Experience in Primary Care
Experience in a healthcare setting
Experience with EMIS Web
Previous administration duties
Disclosure and Barring Service Check
