Dairy farm general worker Sheffield, England
Job description
We are looking for somebody to join our existing team to work on our dairy farm. The individual will be working alongside our fully trained staff so the applicant needs no experience in farming but must have a good work ethic and dedication to the job.
Due to the nature of the job we are looking for committed staff that understand that working with animals is a commitment and not a 9-5, Mon - Fri job.
Jobs will include:
- Milking cows
- Mucking out
- Feeding stock
- Tractor driving
- Moving animals
- Fencing
- Dry stone walling
- General maintenance
Working with Dairy cows, small beef unit and 20 sheep
Currently milking up to 130 Frisian Holstein crossed with jersey, and Swedish red, in a 6/12 herringbone parlour.
Currently constructing a new facility to house and milk up to 150 cows under 1 roof.
This job would suit somebody who is passionate about animals and the countryside and capable of the physical side that comes with the job.
Experience is always an advantage but not essential.
The job is open to all ages 16 - 60+ with the option of an apprenticeship.
Salary: depends on applicant age/ experience.
