This role is key to help scale up the cultural and technology change to embed security in all aspects of our services’ lifecycle. It closely interacts with Network Services wider security community and BT’s “central” Protect BT Group team. It also works together with NS colleagues to understand where security creates friction and how
This role can be based in any of the following locations: London, Birmingham, Bristol, Belfast
What you’ll be doing
  • As part of the wider team, evangelise cultural change, embedding security into ways of working, identifying and reducing friction. Build on expanding agile and value stream principles
  • Drive tech change towards Shift Left, DevSecOps, Zero Trust and AI culture and practice, building on existing agile ways of working
  • Influence BT security policy, standards and tools
  • Manage key internal and third party relationships
Skills required for the job
  • Strong interpersonal and inspirational communication skills with demonstrable experience interacting with and influencing technical SMEs
  • Be a change agent
  • Willingness to challenge convention and ability to simplify complex issues
  • Ability to analyse and synthesise data, and use the results to manage risk and influence change
  • Security experience in an agile delivery environment is a strong plus
Experience you would be expected to have
  • MANDATORY: Experience in cyber security and information security in corporate environments
  • MANDATORY: Engineering background, preferably software, embedded or network
  • PREFERRED: Experience with risk management and incident response
  • PREFERRED: Experience assurance frameworks
  • PREFERRED: Experience delivering security in agile software development methodologies, ideally with cloud-based experience
  • PREFERRED: Experience of embedded system or device security
  • PREFERRED: Experience of cyber and information security regulations, standards and frameworks (e.g. ISO27001, NIST, GDPR).
